News Desk : United People Global (UPG), a Switzerland-based international organization, has been spearheading a new global movement by empowering young people to lead sustainable development efforts. In 2025, UPG’s contributions in education, health, environment, and social equity are proving to be truly transformative. Through the UPG Sustainability Leadership Program 2025, the organization continues to develop leadership skills in youth and encourage community-driven initiatives worldwide.

Led by its President and Founder Yemi Babington-Ashaye, UPG envisions transforming young people into architects of social change. With active operations in over 140 countries, UPG collaborates with various global partners to implement impactful social projects. In the 2025 cohort alone, over 13,000 youth from across the globe applied. Candidates are selected through a competitive process based on submitted video projects, university certifications, and community activity documentation.

From Bangladesh, Ruhil Madini Mim, a student of Political Studies at Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), has been selected as one of the global representatives for 2025. She was introduced to UPG through her senior Habibur Rahman Masrur, whose guidance helped spark her interest in the platform. “My academic focus on politics and sociology aligns deeply with UPG’s mission. I’m using my knowledge to gain practical experience and serve my community,” said Ruhil.

She has already conducted several mini-training sessions across schools in the Sylhet region, focusing on education, health, and environmental awareness. “Through these initiatives, I am trying to build sustainable leadership among common people and improve their quality of life. So far, I’ve successfully completed four sessions, reaching over a hundred participants,” she shared.

Ruhil believes that UPG presents a global opportunity for transformative impact. “Anyone interested in joining UPG can apply online through www.upglobe.org. Through this platform, it’s possible to launch sustainable projects from anywhere in the world. In my sessions, I introduce core ideas around education, health, and the environment so that the next generation can grow up as responsible citizens,” she added.

“I truly believe that small initiatives can lay the foundation for major change. UPG has given me the skills, confidence, and platform to realize this dream,” she concluded.

UPG President Yemi Babington-Ashaye remarked, “Our goal is to build the capacity of young people so they can lead change in their own communities. Young leaders like Ruhil are bringing our mission to life.”

For the youth of Bangladesh, UPG presents a tremendous opportunity. Leaders like Ruhil are proving that with the right platform and unwavering determination, changing the world is possible. Through initiatives like these and the active participation of youth, UPG is paving the way toward a truly sustainable future.
